Simpson named National Player of the Week

October 31, 2006 By WRN Contributor

Wisconsin junior volleyball player, Jackie Simpson, has been named the Sports Imports/American Volleyball Coaches Association National Player of the Week for Division 1.  Simpson led the Badgers to 3-0 wins over then-No. 2 ranked Penn State and then No. 24 Ohio State on the weekend.

Simpson is just the third UW player to earn national player of the week honors and the first since Lizzy Fitzgerald was honored on Sept. 4, 2001.
