Badger freshman Gavinski to redshirt

November 10, 2006 By WRN Contributor

Wisconsin Badger freshman J.P. Gavinski told the Badger coaching staff that he will redshirt this season.

The 6'11 center from Wisconsin Dells would have found playing time hard to come by with the likes of Brian Butch ,  Jason Chappell and Greg Stiemsma in front of him.

Gavinski played 9 minutes in the teams first exhibition game against UW-Stout but didn't play at all on Wednesday against Carroll College.
