Gilman captures Div. 7 State Football title

November 17, 2006 By WRN Contributor

After a runnerup finish in 2005, Gilman returned to the Division 7 WIAA State Football Championship game and didn't leave empty handed.  The Pirates rolled to a 42-0 win over Eleva-Strum.

Jacob Doro set a Division 7 championship-game record with 236 yards on 29 carries and scored a pair of touchdowns.

Gilman started slow, turning the ball over on its first two possessions, but they made up for it after that.  QB Robin Rosemeyer also rushed for two touchdowns and threw for another in the route.
