Pavelski hits the big time

November 25, 2006 By WRN Contributor

Joe Pavelski's departure from the NCAA Champion Wisconsin Badger hockey team was a shocker to the staff.  They didn't see it coming.  Pavelski was a draft pick of the San Jose Sharkes of the NHL and he signed a pro contract in the off season.

Pavelski started the season in Worchester, Mass., but the Plover, Wis. native was called up to the NHL club for Thursday nights game with the Los Angeles Kings.

Pavelski scored his first NHL goal in his first NHL game, putting home a rebound of Scott Hannan's shot midway through the third period in the Sharks' 6-3 victory.
