Pointers win early season WIAC showdown

UW-Stevens Point, ranked #9 in the latest D3hoops.com national poll, rolled into Oshkosh and beat the 19th ranked Titans 89-76 in the two schools WIAC conference opener.  The Pointers also have wins over then #13 Lawrence and then, No. 17 Carroll. 

Pete Rortvedt led five Pointers in double figures with 21 points.  Stevens Point hit 13 of their 23 three point attempts and 20 of 22 at the free throw line.

Elsewhere in the WIAC,, UW-La Crosse knocked off UW-Whitewater 57-53; UW-Stout beat UW-Eau Claire 65-42; UW-River Falls beat UW-Superior 90-65.
