Waupaca pulls out Division 3 Championship

The Waupaca Comets fell behind 3-0 on Greendale kicker Greg Hansen's 25-yard field goal with 6:32 left in the third quarter.  With time winding down.  The Comets broke through when Aaron Jenson found Sean DeVos in the right corner of the endzone on fourth and 10 from the 25 with 3:50 to play for the game winning score and a 7-3 victory in the WIAA Division 3 football championship.

It gave Waupaca coach John Koronkiewicz a championship win on his birthday and gave the school its first football championship.

The game was dominated by defense and penalties, until the Comets came through with the big play in the end.
