Baseball salaries up again!

December 21, 2006 By WRN Contributor

Major League Baseball salaries continue to soar skyward.  The average salary shot up 9% this year to $2.69-million according to figures released by the Major League Players Association.

The increase is the highest since a 12.8% rise in 2001 and makes it likely that the average salary will hit the $3-million mark by 2008.

The New York Yankees have the highest average salary at $6.95-million.  The Milwaukee Brewers ranked 22nd with an average salary of $2.1-million.
