Feingold critical of Bush for delaying Iraq changes

December 13, 2006 By WRN Contributor

US Senator Russ Feingold is disappointed in President Bush's decision to put off strategy changes for the war in Iraq. The President was expected to roll out a new strategy for the war before the holidays, but has delayed any decision until next year. Senator Feingold (D-WI) says he's not surprised in the lack of leadership from the President on this issue. He says it's tragic that Bush keeps delaying policy changes for the war. The Wisconsin Democrat says the Bush administration should be looking for ways to scale back our presence in Iraq and a way to terminate a US presence in the Middle East.

Feingold is also concerned about reports that the President may consider sending in more troops. He says the answer is to have a timetable to put an end to this mistake. Feingold has been pushing for a reduction in US forces deployed to the Middle East.
