Healthcare tops Doyle's agenda at Town Hall meeting

December 8, 2006 By WRN Contributor

Governor Jim Doyle talks with students and officials at Madison Area Technical College about his goals for a second term in office. The governor hosted the first of a series of town hall meetings in Madison Friday, where he discussed his priorities for the next four years. Healthcare options topped Doyle's agenda, largely focusing on making it more affordable and accessible for children and families.

Doyle answered questions from those attending the forum on topics ranging from early childhood education to attracting high-end jobs to Wisconsin. He also pledged to try and keep higher education affordable for students.

The governor is hosting town hall meetings across the state, as he prepares his next budget proposal.
