Holiday air travel reminders

December 21, 2006 By WRN Contributor

The blizzard in Colorado and other states to our west will have an effect on holiday air travel here.

Denver is not only a popular holiday destination but a connection point to and from Milwaukee. But two feet of snow has the Denver airport backed up so people trying to get to Denver and points west and southwest will have to spend another day where they are and rebook.

Pat Rowe at Milwaukee's Mitchell Airport says Thursday and Friday will be the busiest for air travel this holiday season. For people who haven't traveled by air since last Christmas, Rowe says don't forget the 3-1-1 rule. Liquids and gels go in 3 ounce bottles in 1 quart size ziplock plastic bag. You are allowed only 1 bag.

Besides the new carry on rules for liquids and gels, airport security also says don't wrap those Christmas gifts. If something doesn't look right when they go through the X-ray machine they will "open before Christmas".
