UW-Whitewater to meet with football coaching candidates this week

December 18, 2006 By WRN Contributor

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater will begin interviewing candidates this week for the vacant head football coaching job.  The vacancy was created with the resignation of Bob Berezowitz, who is retiring.  Berezowitz has lead the Warhawks to 158 wins, including two straight trips to the NCAA Division III Championship game.

Since September, UW-Whitewater has been receiving applications of interested candidates, but the school delayed interviews until after the current season had been completed.

On-campus interviews for the candidates will now be held this week.  The interview schedule follows:

Tuesday, Dec. 19: 2pm Rick Willis, head football coach at Wartburg College, Waverly, Iowa.

Wednesday, Dec. 20: 2pm Curt Wiese, head football coach at marietta College of Ohio.

Thursday, Dec. 21: 2pm Lance Leipold, associated head coach/offensive coordinator, University of Nebraska-Omaha.

Friday, Dec. 22: 2pm Stan Zweifel, assistant head coach/offensive coordinator, UW-Whitewater.
