A Wisconsin republican's view of the State of the Union

January 23, 2007 By WRN Contributor

President Bush delivers his State of the Union address tonight. Wisconsin Congressman Paul Ryan (R-Janesville) wants to hear some specifics.

Ryan says the President needs to go into more detail of how his Iraq surge strategy will work, what's the end game, the risk of failure and the plan for bringing troops home as soon as possible.

But the Janesville republican also wants to hear the President talk about domestic issues that need to be addressed. Topics such as health care, immigration and a plan for keeping jobs in this country in an era of globalization.

The President addresses Congress and the nation Tuesday night at 8pm CST.
