Badgers continue to roll

January 22, 2007 By WRN Contributor

The 2nd ranked Wisconsin Badger men's basketball team ran its win streak to 15-straight games, the longest streak in the nation, knocking off Illinois 71-64 in Champaign.

The Badgers ran their record to 19-1 and remain the only unbeaten team in the Big Ten Conference at 5-0.  Greg Stiemsma came off the bench and scored a career-high 12 points to help the Badgers pull out the win.  He hit five of six from the field, all five makes were 15 to 16 foot jumpers.  Stiemsma also made both of his free throw attempts.

Kammron Taylor led all scorers with 20 points and Alando Tucker added 17.  Taylor  surpassed 1,000 points for his career, the 31st UW player to reach that plateau.

The Badgers return home to the Kohl Center on Wednesday night to face the Michigan Wolverines.
