Badgers win school record 12th game

January 2, 2007 By WRN Contributor

For the first time in the history of Wisconsin football, the Badgers have won 12 games in a season.  The 6th ranked Badgers beat Arkansas 17-14 in the Capitol One Bowl in Orlando on New Years Day.  It's the second straight Capitol One Bowl win for the Badgers, who beat Auburn last year.

John Stocco was named the games Most Valuable Player, throwing two first half touchdown passes to Paul Hubbard and Travis Beckum in the win.  The 12-1 Badgers finished the season with 9-straight wins.

The win makes the Badgers a sure top 5 team at seasons end and should get them a spot near the top 5 when the preseason polls come out next year, possibly making them a National Title contender.
