Coach accused of stalking former student

January 19, 2007 By WRN Contributor

One of Northwest Wisconsin's best-known and winningest basketball coaches has been arrested on charges of harrassing and stalking one of his former students.

Glenwood City High School boys basketball coach Fred Booth was arrested Sunday. St. Croix County Sheriff Dennis Hilsted says the arrest of the 57 year-old coach followed a weekend incident involving a 22 year-old woman; the most recent of several incidents involving Jessica Quinn. Quinn was on the high school cross country team, coached by Booth, in 1999. Quinn said Booth began leaving notes on her locker and asking personal questions, attention which continued after she left the team. Quinn obtained a court order in 2002, asking Booth to stay away from her. Booth has not commented.
