Hockey Badgers set for big weekend against Gophers

The Wisconsin men's hockey team set themselves up for a big weekend against Minnesota by knocking off Denver 4-0 on Saturday night in Denver.

Four Badgers scored in the shutout win over the 8th ranked Pioneers, as Wisconsin improves to 9-11-2 overall and 6-7-1 in the WCHA.  The Badgers got goals from Ben Street, Tom Gorowsky, Matt Ford and Andy Brandt all notched goals for Bucky.

Wisconsin goaltender Brian Elliott recorded 33 saves, notching his 14th career shutout and moves him just two behind the league record.

The Badgers host the top ranked Gophers at the Kohl Center this weekend.  Minnesota has yet to lose this season (18-0-3, 10-0-3).  They hold the nation's longest unbeaten string at 21 games.
