Marquette drops Big East opener

Herbert Hill had 23 points, 9 rebounds and 7 blocked shots to lead Providence to a 74-59 win over 15th ranked Marquette in the Big East Conference opener. 

It's the third loss of the season (13-3) for Marquette.  Wesley Matthews scored 14 points, but hit just 6 of his 18 field goals.  The Golden Eagles shot just 31% for the game.

Marquette plays it's Big East Conference home opener on Sunday against Syracuse.
