Marquette ends U-Conn's home court win streak

January 11, 2007 By WRN Contributor

The Marquette Golden Eagles needed a win in a bad way.  They got it last night, picking up a 73-69 win over 24th ranked Connecticut.  It ended the Huskies 31 game home court win streak.

Four players scored in double figures for Marquette (14-4, 1-2), which snapped their own 2-game losing streak to start Big East play.  Jerel McNeal had 19 points, Ousmane Barro and Dominic James had 17 and Wesley Matthews 10.  Barro also pulled down 13 rebounds.

Marquette shot just 39% and committed 22 turnovers, but they out-rebounded Connecticut 50-39, including 23 on the offensive boards.
