Petri lukewarm towards troop surge.

January 15, 2007 By WRN Contributor

Congressman Tom Petri is speaking out against President Bush's Iraqi troop surge plan. The president will send more than 21-thousand additional troops, but Congressman Petri, a Republican from Fond du Lac, says that's not the answer. Petri says the U.S. military should be in a supporting role, but should not be relied upon to restore order in Iraq. And Petri suggests the U.S. ought to sit down with Iraq's neighbors, and come up with a plan to restore and maintain order there.
