Tax cuts top Assembly GOP agenda

January 25, 2007 By WRN Contributor

Majority Republicans in the state Assembly unveiled an agenda today that includes tax cuts as a top priority. Majority leader Jeff Fitzgerald says the goal is to reduce Wisconsin's tax ranking. He says Assembly Republicans will try to do that through unspecified amounts of income tax cuts, a new freeze on property taxes, and limits on government spending.

Republican leaders are also pledging to work for more affordable health care. They're also pledging to block any legislation on issues like cloning, embryonic stem cell research, and euthanasia.

WIBA's John Colbert contributed to this report.
