Badgers' Crooks, Hill to miss spring drills

February 2, 2007 By WRN Contributor

Running back P.J. Hill and tight end Andy Crooks , both members of the Badger football team, will undergo shoulder surgery this week and will not participate in Wisconsin's spring football drills in March and April.

Wisconsin head football coach Brett Bielema said, "Both P.J. and Andy are having surgery to correct injuries they sustained during the 2007 season.  They will miss spring ball, but will participate on a limited basis in summer conditioning and are expected to be 100% by the time fall camp opens."

Hill, the 2006 Big Ten Freshman of the Year and conference rushing leader with 1,569 yards, had surgery on Wednesday.

Crooks, who started every game for the Badgers in 2006 and registered 19 receptions for 206 yards and four TDs, will have his surgery on Friday.

Wisconsin begins spring practice on March 13.  The annual spring game is April 21 at 3pm at Camp Randall Stadium.
