Boy bags big bear

February 7, 2007 By WRN Contributor

A 13-year-old Stratford boy has made it into the record book with his 519-pound trophy black bear shot near the small Wood County community of Lindsey. Jacob Trierweiler shot the behemoth back in September. On Saturday, officials from Boone and Crockett measured the skull and confirmed it was the largest ever shot in the county. “It measured 21-inches exactly,” Trieweiler boasts. Boone and Crockett is a sportsmen's club that keeps records on trophy game. [WCCN's Paul Knoff contributed this story]
