Brewers play long ball in intrasquad game

February 27, 2007 By WRN Contributor

J.J. Hardy, Corey Hart and Vinny Rottino clubbed homers yesterday (Monday) as the Blue team beat the Gold team 4-1 in the Milwaukee Brewers' first intrasquad game of spring training camp.

Pitchers Ben Sheets, Jeff Suppan and Claudio Vargas all worked on the mound.  Sheets pitched a perfect frame with a strikeout.  Suppan allowed two hits and a walk but didn't allow a run in his inning.  Vargas also worked a scoreless inning.

The Brewers open Cactus League play on Thursday.
