Charges filed in sexual assault of boy at Racine school

February 17, 2007 By WRN Contributor

Bond has been set at $50,000 for 20-year-old Joshua Dyess, who is accused of sexually assaulting a six-year-old boy the Red Apple School in Racine earlier this week.

After Dyess' initial appearence in court Friday, his grandfather, Bill Dyess, said "he's not that type of person." Dyess is charged with First Degree Sexual Assaulot of a child and Child Enticement. Racine County D-A Michael Nieskes says this type of case is hampered somewhat by the age of the victim, but there is other evidence. Dyess is scheduled to return to court on February 21st for a preliminary hearing.  [WRJN's Janet Hoff contributed this report]
