Doyle previews budget, breaks for families

February 8, 2007 By WRN Contributor

An Appleton family hosted Governor  Jim Doyle in their home today so he could talk about tax breaks he says will benefit the middle class. While at the home of Joe and Brenda Ketter, Doyle talked about tax cuts, aimed at the middle class, included in his budget proposal. Doyle says one of them will help families afford health care. He also announced a plan that would make health insurance premiums tax deductible, increase the deduction for child care expenses. It would also make social security benefits tax free. Doyle says he plans to pay for the proposals by making cuts, not increasing taxes. The governor's full budget will be released next week. [ WHBY 's Rick Schuh contributed this story]
