Let us have our fun!

February 20, 2007 By WRN Contributor

I'm already hearing people complaining about the fact that t-shirts are already on the market celebrating the fact that the Wisconsin Badgers are the number 1 ranked team in the country.

My response is, lighten up!

I never thought I'd see the Badger basketball team ranked #1 in the country in my lifetime.  The fact that they are is fantastic.  I know I have to cover this team, but I'm still a Badger fan for life and I'm pumped.  Don't ruin the fun for those fans that want to relish the fact that their team is number 1.

I heard one guy say the Badgers are above selling t-shirts when they hit #1.  This is the first time in the history of the school the Badger basketball team has reached #1  Hopefully it lasts for more than a week, but with road games at Michigan State and Ohio State coming up this week, it may not last.  So I say sell those t-shirts.  If it happens again, great.  But if it doesn't, buyers will have another reminder that the Wisconsin men's basketball team was for at least one week, #1.
