Salmonella outbreak likely linked to peanut butter

Health officials are trying to pinpoint the source of a Salmonella outbreak. Peanut butter is the most likely candidate. Stephanie Marquis, a Spokesperson with the Department of Health & Family Services says cases of Salmonella have cropped up in 39 states, although not all are linked to peanut butter. Of the five Wisconsin cases — in Dane, Manitowoc, Outagamie, Washington, and Winnebago Counties — two people have consumed peanut butter and two have not. Marquis says you should watch for symptoms of Salmonella . The CDC believes it’s statistically likely that two peanut butter brands — Peter Pan and Great Value — are the culprits.
