Winter whammy: 15-20 inches possible

February 23, 2007 By WRN Contributor

Much of the state is bracing for a major winter storm. How much snow will we get before it's all over Sunday night? Meteorologist Brian Olson at Weather Central in Madison expects 7-10 inches along the border with Illinois, 11-16 inches in the Madison/Dane County area, and 15-20 inches further north.

Snow is expected to begin tonight. Olson says wet heavy snow is expected tomorrow night; blizzard conditions with wind gusts causing whiteout. Travel will be nearly impossible Saturday night and Sunday.
