Badger women face Western Kentucky tonight

March 28, 2007 By WRN Contributor

The University of Wisconsin Badger women face Western Kentucky tonight in the WNIT semi-finals at the Kohl Center.  The Badgers (22-12) set a school record for most wins in a season with their 84-78 come-from-behind win over Virginia (19-15) in the quarterfinals of the WNIT tournament.

It's the third WNIT appearance for the Badgers who won it in 2000 and were the runners-up to Arkansas in 1999.

The Lady Hilltoppers of Western Kentucky are 23-8 this season and advanced to the semi-finals tonight by beating Hofstra 72-54 in the quarterfinals on Sunday.

The two teams have met twice before, with each team winning once to split the series.  The Badgers are playing their second Sun Belt opponent of the tournament, having beaten Arkansas State in the second-round.
