Brewers Open Cactus League Play

March 1, 2007 By WRN Contributor

The Brewers will play the Oakland A's at Maryvale this afternoon in their Cactus League opener.  Ned Yost will send Claudio Vargas to the hill for Milwaukee.  Utility outfielder Gabe Gross will have to sit out today's game after straining a hamstring while running a 60-yard dash on Wednesday.  The Brewers also announced on Wednesday that they sold their one-millionth ticket for the 2007 season on Sunday. That's the 2nd fastest to that mark in team history.
