Day 3 recap in Lake Placid

March 17, 2007 By WRN Contributor

My day 3 recap from Lake Placid, NY, comes in the morning of day 4.  Sorry, it got pretty busy yesterday.  But the result was another Badger victory in the NCAA women's Frozen Four semi-finals.  Wisconsin scored twice in the first 3:57 of the game and went on to beat the host school, St. Lawrence University 4-0.

The Badgers will place Minnesota-Duluth in Sunday's championship game.  UMD beat Boston College 4-3 in double-overtime last night.  The Bulldogs of UMD are the only team to have beaten the Badgers this season.  Wisconsin has since ran off a 25-game unbeaten streak.

The snow that I told you about yesterday is here.  The people at the front desk of the hotel tell me we have 8 to 9 inches already and it's still coming down.  So it's a good thing the Badgers won, because we'll stay another two-days, hopefully see the team win a 2nd straight National Championship and then get out of dodge on our charter flight.

Today is mostly just hanging around.  There's plenty to see in this little town, but I can't say I'll venture out too long in a snowstorm.  I have the coat, hat and gloves, but no boots, so it's kind of a fruitless effort.

Badgers vs. UMD on Sunday.  GO BUCKY!
