Brewers cruising along in opener

April 2, 2007 By WRN Contributor

Brewers opening day starter Ben Sheets is cruising along in the teams 2007 season opener.  Sheets has allowed just one batter over the minimum in the 5th, retiring 15 of 16 batters.  The only setback for Sheets was Jeff Kent's 2nd inning solo home run.

For the Brewers, Geoff Jenkins drove in a pair of runs and Johnny Estrada, Craig Council, J.J. Hardy and Bill Hall have all driven in a run.  Hardy and Estrada both have a pair of hits.

The Brewers are looking for their 4th straight opening day win and are batting in the 5th, up 6-1.
