Brewers open road trip with loss to Marlins

April 10, 2007 By WRN Contributor

Miguel Cabrera clubbed his third homer of the season and drove in three runs to lead the Florida Marlins to a 5-3 win over the Milwaukee Brewers.   It's the 3rd straight win for the Marlins, while the Brewers have now dropped 4 of their last 5.

The Brewers have had a hard time beating Florida of late.  Their losing streak against the Marlins now stands at 9-straight games.

Jeff Suppan took the loss, falling to 0-2 for the Brewers.  He allowed all five runs on 8-hits in six innings.

Geoff Jenkins homered in the loss.  Claudio Vargas makes his first start for the Brewers tonight in game two of the series in Miami.
