Lawmaker seeks Bush impeachment debate

April 5, 2007 By WRN Contributor

A state lawmaker has drafted a resolution calling for President Bush's impeachment. Assembly Democrat Frank Boyle of Superior wants the Legislature to debate his resolution , which states that the president has violated his oath of office. "This president, more than any other president in the history of our country, has committed impeachable crimes," said Boyle. Rules in the Republican controlled Assembly prohibit debate on federal issues, but Boyle said he won't be deterred. "I will move pull the resolution (onto the floor)," he said, adding that he's also looking for a cosponsor in the Democrat-controlled Senate. Boyle said similar impeachment resolutions have been introduced in several other states.
