Sheets continues struggles against Cardinals

April 16, 2007 By WRN Contributor

The Milwaukee Brewers got rbi hits from Prince Fielder and Johnny Estrada to stake Ben Sheets to a 2-0 lead in St. Louis, but that lead was a short-lived one.  The Cardinals turned around to beat the Brewers 10-2 to earn a split of their two game series in St. Louis.

Albert Pujols clubbed two home runs and drove in five runs for the Cardinals.

Sheets gave up 8 runs, 7 of them earned, along with 8 hits in five-plus innings in taking the loss.  Sheets has come up on the wrong end against the Cardinals a total of 14 times in his career.  His 14 losses against the Cardinals are six more than he has against any other opponent.

The Brewers play game six of their rain-shortened seven-game, nine-day road trip.  Chris Capuano pitches for the Brewers.  Eric Milton goes for the Reds.
