UW campuses reviewing security plans

April 17, 2007 By WRN Contributor

UW campuses around the state are reviewing security plans in light of the Virginia Tech tragedy.

The UW System's David Giroux says chancellors at the various campuses are going over those plans and procedures today to make sure campuses are as prepared as well as they can be for the unknown.

Giroux says campuses have highly trained, well equipped and prepared police officers who can keep students, staff and faculty as safe as possible.

And in light of the vivid images and stories coming from the Virginia tech campus, Giroux says campuses are also offering special support services for people who seek additional help in coping with the national tragedy.
