The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay has hired 32 year old Aaron Johnston (pictured) as its new women's basketball coach.
Johnston has been at South Dakota State as head coach for the last seven years. He'll be introduced at a campus news conference at 4pm this afternoon.
Johnston compiled a 170-55 record, including a Division II national title in 2003. SDSU went 25-6 last season and reached the quarterfinals of the WNIT before losing to eventual champion Wyoming.
Johnston takes over a program that has been to the NCAA Tournament in seven of the last nine seasons and finished 29-4 this past season. The Lady Phoenix will also be entering the new, 4,000-seat Kress Events Center in the fall.
Johnston replaces Kevin Borseth who left two weeks ago to take the head coaching job at Michigan.
