Brewers Avoid Sweep

May 21, 2007 By WRN Contributor

Geoff Jenkins hit his 200th career home run and drove in 5 runs as the Brewers beat the Twins 6-5 on Sunday at Miller Park.  The win avoids a Twins sweep and puts the Brewers back at 10 games over the .500 mark.  Matt Wise picked up the win in relief of Claudio Vargas.  Coco Cordero struck out the side in the 9th for his 17th save of the season.  Jenkins 200th homers is 4th on the All-Time Brewer list behind Robin Yout, Gorman Thomas, and Cecil Cooper.  The Brewers open up a three game series in Los Angeles against the Dodgers tonight.
