Brewers blow late lead, fall to Phillies

May 15, 2007 By WRN Contributor

The Milwaukee Brewers coughed up a 4-run lead late and fell to the Philadelphia Phillies 8-6 last night.

Leading 6-2 in the 8th, the Brewers saw the Phillies score 6-times.  Pat Burrell hit a two run homer, Chase Utley added a key two run single and former Brewer Wes Helms hit a tiebreaking single in the Phillies 8th.

Derrick Turnbow took the loss as the Brewers lost while leading after 7-innings for the first time this season.

J-J Hardy clubbed his league leading 12th home run of the season, a three-run shot.  Johnny Estrada also homered in the loss and the Brewers fell to 1-3 on the road trip.  Game 2 of the series is tonight.
