Brewers drop 6th in a row

May 29, 2007 By WRN Contributor

The slumping Milwaukee Brewers lost their 6th straight game, dropping their series opener against Atlanta 2-1 at Miller Park.  That's 13 losses in the last 17 games for the Brewers, who lead the National League Central by 5-games over the Cubs.

The Brewers only run of the game came on Prince Fielder's solo home run in the sixth.  It's his 16th of the season, which leads the National League.

Andruw Jones hit his 350th career home run for the Braves and pitcher Chuck James worked six innings, tying his career high with 8 strikeouts.

Chris Capuano took the loss for the Brewers.  Capuano (5-4) had won his first five games of the season and has since dropped four in a row.  But Capuano pitched well, walking 2 and striking out 6 in the loss.

Ben Sheets pitches game 2 of the series tonight.
