Brewers salvage series finale at Phili

May 18, 2007 By WRN Contributor

Gabe Gross, making just his 10th start of the season, clubbed two home runs to lead the Milwaukee Brewers to a 3-2 win over the Philadelphia Phillies on Thursday, salvaging the final game in the two teams four-game series.

Gross had struggled, entering the game hitting just .167.

Ben Sheets picked up the win (4-2), going 7 2/3 innings and striking out 8.  Francisco Cordero notched his 16th save.

Freddy Garcia took the loss for the Phillies, who lost for just the second time in the last eight games.
