Brewers win streak ends at 6

May 12, 2007 By WRN Contributor

The Milwaukee Brewers fell behind 4-0 last night and fell to the New York Mets 5-4, ending their 6-game win streak.

David Wright, Carlos Delgado and Damion Easley homered for the Mets, who won for the 3rd straight time.  Jorge Sosa (2-0) won his second straight start since coming back from the minors for the Mets (22-12).

Jeff Suppan (5-3) took the loss for the Brewers, ending a personal 5-game win streak.  It was Suppan's first trip to Shea Stadium since beating the Mets while pitching for the Cardinals in Game 7 of the NL Championship Series last season.

The Brewers chipped away at the Mets 4-run cushion with home runs from Geoff Jenkins and Prince Fielder.  The Mets added a 5th run before J.J. Hardy ended the scoring with a 2-run homer for the Brewers, his 10th of the season.

The Brewers record fell to 24-11, but is still the best mark in baseball.  They also still hold a 7-game lead in the NL Central on the Chicago Cubs, who lost in Philadelphia last night.  Ben Sheets pitches game two of the series against the Mets this afternoon.
