Crash kills three Fond du Lac teens

May 1, 2007 By WRN Contributor

Three Fond du Lac High School students died in a one-car crash south of Fond du Lac Monday morning. Sheriff's Captain Dean Will said the three were on Lost Arrow Road just west of Highway 175 when it happened. A witness told County Sheriff's investigators that the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed as it approached. Will said it appears that the 18 year old driver tried to correct after the car vaulted over some railroad tracks, but the car skidded sideways and partially wrapped around a tree. The driver was ejected from the car. The two 16-year-old boys riding with him were wearing seat belts, but that didn't save them. Will said it's likely that they died instantly. For Fond du Lac County, the crash is the largest loss of life in a single traffic accident since four young people died in an accident on Highway 41 about four years ago.
