Feingold marks Memorial Day in Madison

May 28, 2007 By WRN Contributor

mdaymad_edited-1.jpg Wisconsin Senator Russ Feingold says Memorial Day is especially important now. At Soldiers' Rest at Madison's Forest Hill Cemetery, the Wisconsin Democrat says honoring our veterans takes on an added importance, with our nation embroiled in a difficult war. And Feingold, who opposed the latest Iraq war funding bill because it lacks a timeline for troop withdrawal, sees little reason for optimism. Feingold predicts “more of the same” in Iraq this summer, and wants U.S. troops to be withdrawn in a safe and orderly manner, before the situation in that country deteriorates further.
