Gas prices not impacting travel plans

May 18, 2007 By WRN Contributor

Apparently, we're going to keep our summer travel plans, despite the high gas prices.

Pam Moen with AAA Wisconsin says summer travel is often a reward for dealing with the long winters we put up with each year. So, most people aren't willing to give them up, no matter how the price of gas climbs.

However, Moen says the climbing price at the pump could impact how far we're willing to go and what we're able to do when we get there. For example, she says people may cut back on food and lodging expenses.

A recent survey by the auto club shows many Wisconsinites will also stay closer to home and take shorter trips.
