Governor Doyle's plan to expand Wisconsin's four year old kindergarten program is under attack.
State Senator Glenn Grothman (R-West Bend) says the program illustrates the hatred the left has for parents who want to care for their own children. Grothman says the program is nothing more than subsidized day care. He wants to end the program and use the $75 million dollars in funding for something else. The West Bend Republican says the money could provide a $300 tax credit to parents for each child they have under the age of five.
Instead of expanding government, Grothman says the state would instead be providing a tax benefit for all parents, including those who stay at home to take care of their kids instead of sending them to day care.
