Legislation offers tax credits for corporate wellness programs

May 23, 2007 By WRN Contributor

State Representative Terry Moulton (R-Chippewa Falls) says wellness programs aren't cheap, and businesses need all the help they can get in starting them up. That's why he's introducing legislation that would provide a tax credit for companies that make the effort to create programs for their employees.

Moulton says wellness programs have proven to be effective in reducing health care costs, increasing productivity, and reducing absenteeism.

The bill is currently being considered by a legislative committee.
