State teams eliminated from NCAA Division 3 College World Series

May 29, 2007 By WRN Contributor

Emory scored 17 runs in the 5th and 6th innings on Monday and went on to beat UW-Stevens Point 18-7 in an elimination game at the NCAA Division 3 College World Series at Fox Cities Stadium.  The Pointers finished their season with a 34-17 mark.

The Pointers jumped out to a 4-0 lead behind a two run homer in the first and a solo shot in the 2nd, both by Jordan Zimmerman.  The Pointers increased their lead to 6-0 before Emory erupted in the 5th and 6th innings.

Emory advances to the championship round against Kean University (42-8), which has yet to lose a game in the tournament.  Emory (43-9) needs to win twice to win the title.  Kean needs just one victory to claim the NCAA Division 3 College World Series championship.
