Task force starts work on global warming

May 9, 2007 By WRN Contributor

Governor Doyle gave his task force on global warning its marching orders.

The Governor says global  warming is a  "real threat" to Wisconsin's economic and environmental health.  He  urged a  state task  force on the issue today  to "trust"  the scientific facts.

Doyle said there's too much at stake to rely on political ideologies.

The  task force will  give  Doyle recommendations on  how to  fight global warming.  He says he expects they will include new technology on using cleaner coal and  other  ways to reduce carbon dioxide emissions.

Governor Doyle says Wisconsin  can set  an example  on  how  to deal with global warming. The task force is made up of  manufacturers,  utility officials, and environmental  leaders.
