Whistling Straits preparing for U.S. Men's Senior Open

May 8, 2007 By WRN Contributor

Whistling Straits Another golf major on Wisconsin soil is now less than two-months away.  The 2007 men's U.S. Senior Open starts July 5th at Whistling Straits in Haven.

Kohler Company golf officials are expecting more than 150,000 golf fans to be on hand for the U.S. Senior Open in early July.  Ticket sales are ahead of the pace for the 2005 and 2006 events.  The goal is 200,000 fans.

Allen Doyle is the two-time defending champion.  He was on hand for the event's media day on Monday.

The July event will be the third major championship to come to a Kohler course since the Women's Open in 1998.  Whistling Straits still has two more PGA Championships and a Ryder Cup lined up through 2020.
